Experience the Power Of War Room Intentions

The power of your intentions create your life’s circumstances—and consequently, shape your destiny.

“Everything that happens in the universe begins with intention,” declares Deepak Chopra. "When I decide to buy a birthday present, wiggle my toes, or call a friend, it all starts with intention. Our destiny is ultimately shaped by our deepest intentions and desires. You can harness the power of intention to create anything you desire.”

Positive intentions pine to be a better and greater person in life

People with positive intentions are filled with passion, purpose and love that include benefits for them and for all involved. They have defined goals and they work tirelessly to achieve their aspirations. Their unwavering intentions emit an energy field that attracts a divine energy source that seemingly manifests supernatural solutions to grave problems and accomplishes personal achievements and financial success and the capacity for creativity, wisdom, kindness and joy. “Whether you call it God, the divine, or something else," said Dr. Wayner Dyer, "[this source] is always available to us and is infinite in its possibilities."

Negative intentions are apathetic, procrastinating and unindustrious.

People who lack defined intentions go through life on the sidelines. They may claim they want a better life—but they complain and blame others for their problems, failures and unhappiness. They are the , quibblers, victims and cynics. They vegetate in front of the TV, they complain about being overweight but they don’t exercise. They hate their job but they don’t spiff up their resume and they constantly gripe about their boss. They passively exist in an unhappy, loveless relationship and they condemn their partner for their failed relationship.

For the past 6 years I have written my annual intentions on New Year’s Day. I write my goals, my needs and my hopes on small pieces of paper and I place my scribbled notes into an envelope to be opened the following New Year’s Day.

Through the years my intentions included:

  1. Sell my Memphis townhouse and move to Nashville.
  2. Finish writing and publish book 2 and 3.
  3. Pay off my credit card debt.
  4. Date (and possibly marry) a wonderful man.
  5. Learn to train and ride my new horse.
  6. Achieve 3 best-selling books.
  7. Restoration for my daughter who struggles with personal problems.

Every year on January 1st, I open my envelope of intentions and with awe and gratitude, I check off the intentions that came to fruition … and then I write new intentions for the upcoming year and I place my unanswered and new intentions into a sealed envelope that will hopefully materialize in next 12 months.

I recently saw the movie War Room, the story of Tony and Elizabeth Jordan. They had great jobs, a beautiful daughter and a dream house; they seemed to have it all, but ego, deceit and bitterness wreaked havoc on their marriage. Miss Clara, a quirky elderly woman, introduced Elizabeth to prayer as a powerful weapon against Satan’s evil influence in our lives. She taught Elizabeth how to pray in the “war room.” Elizabeth took her troubles to God in her prayer closet, claiming the promises of scriptures of mercy, grace and healing, God restored her marriage.

I realized my intentions were weak without claiming God promises.

I added God’s scriptural promises to this year's intentions.

For my intention to achieve 3 best-selling books and a new home with a barn for my horses, I claim: For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jer. 29:11

For my daughter, I claim: I will contend with him who contends with you; and I will save your children. Is. 49:25.

What do you want to accomplish in the upcoming year? What are your hopes and dreams? Do you want a better job and more money? Do you want out of a toxic relationship? Do you want to date or marry a wonderful man or have a better relationship with your partner, family and friends? Do you want a better golf score or do you want to open an art gallery with your paintings? Do you want a luxury car, a new house or to travel abroad? Do you want healing for a loved one?

If you want to realize your intentionsyou MUST write out your intentions to clarify, focus and recognize your progress.

Declare on paper your hopes, desires, blessings and restoration to the Universe, pump it up with God’s promises and then file it away for 12 months—not to be forgotten, but continually visualize your intentions with passion, intent and expectation. Believing, praying, acting out and expecting your aspirations to materialize reinforces your intentions. Worry, anxiety and skepticism short-circuits your divine energy source.

Your intentions may not come to pass in 12 months and it will take years for some of your dreams to come to fruition—but in the meantime, living your life with intention will enrich the quality of your life.
