It's Thanksgiving and I want to give thanks for my many blessings.
I’m thankful every day that Dr. Dirtbag dumped me for another woman. I was crazy in love with this conniving, narcissistic, verbally battering man. At the time, I couldn’t understand how someone who professed such profound love for me could treat me so badly. I didn’t have the chutzpah to pull the trigger on our relationship. Thank you, Lord—he did it for me.
On a serious note ...
A hurtful relationship will inspire us to be thankful for a loving, loyal partner. A friend with cancer make us appreciate our good health. The death of a loved one cause us to overlook the shortcomings of our family members and friends. Digesting the news about countries that endure poverty, famine, tyranny and pestilence make us appreciate our imperfect but great country.
I am thankful for:
My freedom of speech and my right to vote for the presidential candidate of my choice.
My right to lawfully bear a Smith and Wesson .38 bodyguard.
My good health and the good heath of my loved ones.
My friends who are supportive, enduring, caring and who appreciate my zany personality.
My readers who enjoy my candid message of taking responsibility for our hurtful actions.
I’m thankful for a roof over my head, nice clothes to wear, food to eat and clean water to drink.
Most of all, I am thankful that God opened my eyes to my negative attitudes, closed mindset and dysfunctional behavior which stood between me and the things I wanted most in life.
I am thankful that God took my lifetime of relationship failures, divorce and heartbreak and gave me life-altering message for women.
